Oklahoma Delegation at National 4-H Shooting Sports Competition
Four talented Oklahomans represented their state at the National 4-H shooting sports competition in Grand Island, NE this week. The team included:
- Landon Lohberger and Caleb Stone from Beckham County
- Nate Hickey from Custer County
- Brody McElhannon from Pontotoc County
Individual Sporting Clays Performance
In the individual sporting clays event, the Oklahoma shooters showcased their skills:
- Caleb Stone and Nate Hickey tied for 13th, breaking 83/100 targets.
- Landon Lohberger finished 31st, hitting 79/100.
- Brody McElhannon secured the 58th spot with 74/100.
Individual Skeet Highlights
The competition continued with the individual skeet event:
- Brody McElhannon led the team with a 29th place finish, hitting 91/100 targets.
- Landon Lohberger and Caleb Stone both scored 86/100, ending up 57th.
- Nate Hickey hit 84/100 for 67th place.
Individual Trap Results
The individual trap event saw impressive scores from the Oklahoma delegation:
- Caleb Stone scored 96/100, earning 11th place.
- Brody McElhannon followed closely with 95/100 for 13th.
- Landon Lohberger hit 94/100, placing 17th.
- Nate Hickey scored 92/100, securing 24th place.
Team Competition Achievements
In the team competition, the Oklahoma shooters demonstrated exceptional teamwork:
- Sporting Clays: The team hit 245/300 targets, finishing 5th.
- Skeet: They hit 263/200 targets, securing 15th place.
- Trap: The team excelled with 285/300 targets, earning 3rd place.
Overall Performance
With a combined team total, the Oklahoma delegation finished 5th overall. Among 129 shooters representing 33 states, the individual rankings were:
- Caleb Stone: 17th place
- Brody McElhannon: 26th place
- Nate Hickey: 28th place
- Landon Lohberger: 29th place
