The reports of the Pac 12’s complete demise seem to be premature. Late last night, the conference announced that it would be adding four schools to the existing two, with more to come. Starting in 2026, the new members include Boise State, Colorado State, San Diego State, and Fresno State. Oregon State and Washington State remain the holdovers after the Big 10, ACC, and Big 12 raided ten of the twelve member schools this offseason.
Many expect the new Pac 12 to extend invitations to Cal and Stanford, offering them a chance to return to the west coast if they regret joining the ACC. If they decline, UNLV, Memphis, Tulane, Air Force, and UTSA may be next in line. Just when you thought conference realignment was over, the Pac 12 returns! With only six members now, maybe it’s time for a name change to the “6-Pac.”
Thursday Night NFL Showdown: Bills vs. Dolphins
Tonight’s Thursday Night Football game is an AFC East showdown in Miami between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. Both teams overcame early deficits last week to secure wins, with Buffalo topping Arizona 34-28 and Miami clipping Jacksonville 20-17.
The Dolphins will be without Raheem Mostert, last year’s NFL touchdown leader, due to a chest contusion. Additionally, Devon Achane is a game-time decision after tweaking his ankle in Week 1. Kickoff is at 7:15 PM, but make sure you have Amazon Prime to catch this one live.
Quade Cummins in the Hunt on Korn Ferry Tour
Weatherford’s own Quade Cummins is competing this week at the Korn Ferry Tour Finals in Nashville, Tennessee. After 14 holes at the Vanderbilt Legends Course, Quade is 2-under-par with two birdies, two bogeys, and an eagle, putting him in a tie for 23rd. He is currently four shots off the first-round lead.
Cummins has already secured his PGA Tour card for next season, but strong performances in the final three events could improve his positioning as he heads into his first full PGA Tour year.
