Elk City Elkettes Keep the Momentum in 4A District Play
The Elk City Elkettes continue to dominate the fast pitch diamond, securing a 7-2 victory over Kingfisher in 4A district 1 play. Aburie Pogue was stellar in the circle, giving up only two runs on six hits, walking two, and striking out nine. Brenyn Ball led the offense, going 3-4 with two RBIs, while Lu Wyatt and Ella Sottile each added a pair of hits. Jera Moler also contributed with two RBIs.
Wford’s Marley Teasley Pitches a No-Hitter
In another district game, Wford shut out Woodward 4-0, with Marley Teasley throwing a no-hitter and striking out ten batters. Joss Shulz supported the effort with a two-run homer, solidifying Wford’s place in the district standings.

Following yesterday’s games, the Elk City Elkettes remain unbeaten with a 2-0 record. Bethany trails at 3-1, while Woodward and Kingfisher are tied for third with 2-2 records. Wford sits at 1-1, with Mt. St Mary and Clinton at the bottom of the standings with 0-2 and 0-3 records, respectively.
Mangum Overcomes Merritt in 2A District 1 Action
In 2A district 1, Mangum defeated Merritt 8-5 in their first district game of the season. Both teams showed strong performances, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
