HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS TONIGHT
As we wind down the high school basketball regular season, there are some monster matchups ahead in the next couple weeks. It starts tonight. Elk City heads to Bethany for a Western Conference double header. The Elkettes are ranked #15 in 4A with a 13-4 record, but they’re on a two game losing streak. Bethany is the two time defedning 4A state champs who are ranked #9 and also sport a 13-4 record. Bethany has won their last 4. if you can’t make the trip you can catch all the action live on bigelktv.com. Pregame gets fired up at 6:15 ahead of the 6;30 tip for the girls game with the boys to follow around 8.
One of the bigger games in the state can be seen tonight on Paragontv.com. Class 2A #7 Merritt travels up highway 34 to faceoff against Class B #2 Hammon. The Oilerettes are one of the few teams in the whole state that’ve had Hammon’s number, winning 5 of the last 6 over the last 3 years. That’s not the only game available tonight on paragontv.com. You also get AB vs C-R, Erick’s at home against FGFS, and Canute welcomes Sentinel. Girls games tip at 6:30 with the boys to follow around 8.
There are a couple Saturday games available as well. Merritt and Turpin will meet at Woodward in the morning at 10. Hammon’s traveling to Enid to face Lomega. The girls game is #1 vs #2 at it tips at 7:45 with the boys game to follow at 9.
COLLEGE HOOPS THIS WEEKEND
Both in state schools are at home this weekend on the college hoops hardwood. Oklahoma St hosts Utah inside Gallagher-Iba Arena at 2:00. The Pokes are even 10-10 but only 2-7 in the Big 12. Oklahoma faces a near must win situation inside the Lloyd Noble Center tomorrow afternoon with #24 Vanderbilt in town. Oklahoma’s 15-5 overall but only 2-5 in the SEC. Tipoff between the Sooners and Commodores is at 2:30.
JALEN WILLIAMS NAMED ALL STAR; THUNDER HOST KINGS TOMORROW NIGHT
The Oklahoma City Thunder have the best record in the Western Conf by multiple games and last night they were rewarded. 3rd year forward Jalen Williams was named to the Western Conf All Star team alongside his teammate SGA last night. Ok City has had at least one all star in 14 of the 17 seasons the Thunder have been in town. It’s the 8th time they’ve had two. Ok City has tonight off before welcoming the Sacramento Kings to the Paycom Center tomorrow night to start a four game homestand.
