White Sox Snap Record Losing Streak

All good things must come to an end and that’s what we saw last night out in Oakland. The Chicago White Sox were attempting to break a record against the A’s last night. Chicago went into last night’s game riding a 21-game losing streak which tied the 1988 Baltimore Orioles for the longest in American League history. Those two will remain tied after the ChiSox snapped the losing streak with a 5-1 win in Oakland. They’re still in the running to finish with the worst record in the modern era. They’ll need to finish their final 46 games 11-35 to break that record.

OU/Texas Both Dealing with Preseason Injuries

The Red River Rivals both suffered tough setbacks with preseason injuries to budding stars on their offense. OU WR Jayden Gibson left practice with an apparent knee injury. He was set to get an MRI today but to this point there hasn’t been anything official as to the severity of Gibson’s injury. Texas RB CJ Baxter will miss the 2024 season after suffering a knee injury himself. Baxter tore his LCL and PCL in practice yesterday down in Austin. The injury will require surgery, and the recovery time is between 6 and 9 months.
